What I’m Watching Tonight: 2/23/10

There’s a couple of games I’ll be keeping an eye on tonight…

1. #13 Georgetown at Louisville

Rick Pitino has taken Louisville to consecutive Elite Eight's

Louisville is another one of those Big East teams on the NCAA Tournament bubble.  Right now, Joe Lunardi has them penciled in as a #9 seed in the East Bracket with a second round matchup against Kentucky (who they’ve already lost to this season).  They may have already sealed their tournament fate with a big win at Syracuse on Valentine’s Day, but the Orange played terribly that day.

Georgetown is a good team with one of the better big men in America in Greg Monroe.  They’re coming off of a tough loss at home to Syracuse.

Should be a barnburner at Freedom Hall.  It will be my first time really watching Louisville play this season.

2. Germany vs. Canada, Olympic Men’s Hockey

All of Canada should be tuned into this game to see how their boys bounce back after going down to the Americans on Sunday.  Roberto Luongo starts in goal instead of Martin Brodeur, who’s taking some heat for his performance against the US.

I’m wondering if Team Canada simply has too many stars on the team.  Sure they’re all great players, but you need some guys who can step back and play some different roles.  It will be interesting to see what their line combinations are tonight as they try to get to the quarterfinals
