What I’m Watching Tonight

#7 West Virginia at UCONN

Kemba Walker scored 29 in a win against Villanova

Is UCONN in the NCAA Tournament?  We’ll have a better answer to that question in a couple of hours.

The Huskies have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the country this year.  Since Jim Calhoun came back from his short leave of absence, though, they’ve beaten third-ranked Villanova on the road.

They come in at 16-11, and 6-8 in the Big East.  Normally, a conference record like that would probably have you on the outside looking in.  In the Big East, though, you’re facing a ranked team almost every week.  They have a respectable RPI at 45, and the second best strength of schedule.  Both factors will work in their favor come Selection Sunday.

West Virginia comes in as a sneaky good team.  Bob Huggins has them playing really well, and they bring their 21-5 record to Storrs looking to pick their first good road win of the season.
